Tree of Dreams

A unique blend of live music, object storytelling, and immersive puppetry, Tree of Dreams is a deeply personal journey into the complexities of growing up. Inspired by classics like The Little Prince, The Alchemist, and Where the Wild Things Are, this show takes you on a path through fear, growth, and the pursuit of dreams.

In collaboration with object storytellers Sid K, Connor Lifson, and cinematographer Shozo Okada, Tree of Dreams tells the story of a child navigating the struggles of growing up in government housing. As they confront their fears and navigate the challenging roads ahead, the child encounters a series of whimsical yet powerful creatures—each representing the forces that shape us and the obstacles we must overcome.

With elements of shadow puppetry, cinematic visuals, and live music, Tree of Dreams is a show about finding meaning in our dreams and how they shape us, even when the journey feels impossible. Experience a world where the lines between reality and fantasy blur, as the child climbs their way toward self-discovery, drawing strength from those they meet along the way.

A collaboration between the creators of Edinburgh Fringe 2024 sell-out shows Book of Dew (object storytelling) and Bob Marley: How Reggae Changed the World (music, storytelling), this new creation brings a fresh and immersive approach to storytelling, combining intricate puppetry with cinematic lighting and projections to transport the audience into a world of dreams, fear, and hope.
